What is LASIK co-management?
LASIK itself is performed by an ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive surgery. Co-management means Dr. Domiano handles everything on either side of the procedure: the evaluation that determines whether surgery makes sense for you, coordination with the surgeon, and the follow-up visits afterward. You keep seeing the doctor who knows your eyes, and routine checkups happen minutes from home instead of at a surgical center outside the Scranton area.
Am I a candidate for LASIK?
LASIK can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism in suitable patients, but not everyone is a good candidate. Your evaluation looks at how stable your prescription has been, the thickness and shape of your corneas (measured with corneal topography), the health of your tear film — untreated dry eye is worth addressing before surgery — and the overall health of your eyes. Dr. Domiano will give you a straight answer. If LASIK isn't the right fit, we'll walk you through the alternatives, from glasses and daily contacts to specialty lenses.
What happens before and after surgery?
Before surgery, we complete your pre-operative measurements, discuss realistic expectations, answer your questions, and share the results with your surgeon so nothing is repeated unnecessarily. Because untreated dry eye is worth addressing first, we'll evaluate your tear film and treat any dryness before you go in.
After surgery, we see you for scheduled post-operative visits to monitor healing, check your vision and manage comfort, including treating any dryness that develops. If anything needs the surgeon's attention, we coordinate it directly — you don't have to chase two offices.

- How do I find out if I'm a candidate for LASIK?
- Schedule a comprehensive exam and LASIK consultation. We review your prescription stability, corneal thickness and shape, tear film and overall eye health, then tell you plainly whether LASIK is a good option or whether another approach would serve you better.
- What if I'm not a good LASIK candidate?
- You still have excellent options: updated glasses, daily disposable or multifocal contact lenses, and specialty lenses such as scleral or RGP designs for irregular corneas. We'll fit whichever gives you the best vision.
- Will I still need eye exams after LASIK?
- Yes. LASIK changes your prescription, not your risk of eye disease. Annual comprehensive exams remain important to monitor for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and other conditions.
